The
buffet style Sung-Ding Hotpot Restaurant is located among
many pubs and clubs. The owner is particular in the selection
and quality of hotpot ingredients and soup stock used, and
this makes the food stand out. Sung-Ding's hotpot soup stock
comes in six main flavors: curry, spicy, barbeque, milk, tomato,
and dual pot. The basic spicy pot uses select bones for a
clear base that is smooth, healthy and not greasy. The curry
pot contains dozens of Chinese herbs and spices, and uses
Cantonese, Thai and Vietnamese curries. The popular tomato
pot uses fresh tomatoes simmered with chicken bones and vegetables--particularly
suitable for scorching summer days. The unique milk pot, made
with fresh milk in proportion to soup stock, has a creamy
flavor. From Monday to Friday lunch costs NT$250 with no service
charge. Meals are NT$$299 at all other times, plus 10% service
fee. --By Josie Wu
