2009 Lan Yang's Classic Ballet Night

Although this is a Taiwanese troupe with its own ethnic influences, the choreography is universal in its appeal. Since 1992, Lan Yang has been following the Vaganova System, which aims to teach students to dance with their whole body in order to acquire a harmony of movements and a broadening of artistic expression. They also have been staging "Ballet Night" concerts on a regular basis to present what they've been learning to the public. The group officially became a professional dance troupe in 2005 and so far has self-produced ballet pieces like "Half Ballet Shoes" and "Midsummer's Night Caprice". This year, they will present "2009 Lan Yang's Classic Ballet Night", a grand performance choreographed by Russian theater professional Susana Uzakova. The troupe's dancing combines skillful movements, tremendous energy and beautiful costumes, making this a must-see performance.
