VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS
One of the only places in town where diners can find traditional
hand-cut noodles, Bei Fang features delicious beef noodles made
with the chunky, irregular noodles, cut by hand with a knife while
you wait. There are big chunks of beef in the noodles, which cost
NT$90 a bowl. There are several other types of noodles, including
another favorite--"ta lu mien" (big stew noodles)--which has a thicker
broth with strips of pork and plenty of vegetables, costing NT$70
a bowl. "Jaotzu" boiled dumplings (NT$4 each) are among other non-noodle
dishes. To get there, head downtown on Hsueh Shih Road, turn left
at the first traffic light after crossing Chien Hsing Road and it's
on the left, opposite Chung Cheng Park, about 100 meters away. In
South district, there is another outlet at 383, Kuokuang Road (tel.
287-2627, 285-7498).
