Start the day early with a delicious Chinese breakfast... a dan bing and dou jang.  If you prefer Western style, 'Swensens', has a good breakfast selection.  If the sun¡¦s shining head east on your scooter to the mountains & enjoy an invigorating hike up one of Da Ken's recently repaired trails.  If you prefer the coast, head northwest to stroll along the beach at Da An....  Don't forget to pack a picnic lunch.  In the evening Taichung has many great restaurant choices...try 'The Spice Shop', for an authentic Indian curry... or 'Salt & Pepper', for some mouth watering New Zealand lamb.   Later, a romantic
stroll around one of Taichung's many parks... or the tree lined path along the centre of Tai Yuan Road.  Finally, enjoy a fruit tea at one of the tea shops behind the Taiwan Folk Park, just off Chung De Road.

If its too wet to go out on the scooter, you may just prefer a quiet day at home (take the phone off the hook), breakfast in bed, soaking in the hot tub, relaxed reading together, maybe a word game or cards...  & in the evening light the candles, turn up the sax music & have a romantic bedroom
picnic...you can order in or get something down the road... place the food on a tablecloth on the bed...  enjoy your leisurely meal, in your pj's or whatever...

Keeping romance alive...
Fiona McKinlay (Winner of a dinner for two at Salt & Pepper Restaurant)
