These days, it's hard to find an ice store with a traditional flavour. Their rice balls are hand-made, using a stone board to drain the rice & peanut milk on a long bench to make the rice balls. The rice balls here are chewy and delicious. During the Full-Moon festival, Shin-Shin gets busy selling hand-made rice ball and Chang-Pin Rd. store gets crowded. The salty rice balls (NT$40) have pork, mushroom and red onion. Rice balls are also served with red bean and peanut, cold or warm, for NT$30. During the Summer, Shin-Shin offers traditional cracked ice with shen-chaw and rice noodles. Many aged Taiwanese, who live in other countries now, like to enjoy themselves in Shin-Shin, because the rice balls and cracked ice bring back old memories.
