Grandma's Thai
Restaurant is located on Chien-Hsing Road, close to Sogo, and is
well known in its neighborhood. Customers will be attracted by its
interior design with wooden decorations. When climbing up the stairs,
a hollow log can be seen in a corner filled with business cards
- an interesting use for a log. Grandma's Thai has been around for
almost 6 years. The manager and chef go to Thailand each year for
new recipe ideas, like the new "Fresh Raw Shellfish with special
sauce". It is spicy, sour and chewy and only NT$380. "Beef
with Bamboo Shoots" (NT$280), and "Tapioca and Coconut Milk" (NT$60),
are specially prepared for customers for that real Thai feeling.
The "Coconut Cream" (NT$50), coconut mild with coconut powder topped
with fresh pineapple, is good to have after a hot, spicy dish. Average
expense here is about NT$500-$600 per person. The new Tepitos, a
sparkling drink, is for the more curious customers to try.
