VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS
HLocated very close to
the DongMen/ChangRong intersection, Hutieu Vietnam offers
a delicious and very inexpensive way to sample Vietnamese
noodle dishes. Run by a Taiwanese-Vietnamese couple, the shop
has been since the autumn. A tasty bowl of broad rice noodles
with a beef/pork broth is just NT$30; the most expensive dish
on the small seven-item menu, the Vietnamese Beef Noodles,
is a mere NT$55. Other items available are Meatball Soup,
Duck Egg Noodles in Soup, Dumplings, and the curiously named
Soybean Sauce Roasted Food. The noodle dishes are filling,
though their taste seems to have been slightly modified for
the Taiwanese market. Those used to traditional Vietnamese
fare may find them lacking in spice and body. Also, vegetarians
should be warned that Hutieu Vietnam does not offer meat-free
dishes. --By David Bolster, translated by Iva Huang
