Delicate Traditional Chinese Snacks
On the corner of CingNian Road and CingDong Street,
a few minutes walk from Tainan First Boys Senior
High School and not far from National Chengkung University,
this is a branch of a company that has--as its name
implies--spread south from Taipei. Spacious, brightly
lit, and often bustling, this business serves excellent
steamed and fried dumplings, savory doughnut sticks,
plus more substantial fare such as Beef Noodles (NT$80),
XiaoLongBao (NT$56), Sweet'n'Sour Soup (NT$30), and
Egg Soup (NT$20). From time to time there are special
offers--at the time of writing customers could enjoy
unlimited refills of hot or cold soya bean milk (NT$15);
some months ago there was an all-you-can-eat deal
for NT$99. The friendly and helpful staff will point
out current specials. The pot-sticker dumplings are
NT$7 each; if you want to avoid grease, try the breakfast
sandwiches. Like everything else, these are available
all day and night. |
