Ben McCaffery is a visual artist, and teacher. He also runs a small vegetarian bistro named Tieh Fan Wan, in Lotung, Ilan. He has made Taiwan his home for the last twelve years, most of which have been in Ilan. He has stayed here for the perpetual novelty, the amiable and gentle people, the great scenery and liberal society. His paintings are humorous, and often created by adorning unintentional mistakes of the pen with deliberate patches of colour.
