The Ice Bar is situated at
the front of the Children's Museum near the
junction of TingZhou and ShiDa roads. It's
a fantastically different place to spend an
evening. The large patio out front provides
al freso eating and drinking, but the real
beauty is inside. Staff help you don snow
coats and then open the door into a veritable
ice kingdom. There, is an ice bar, complete
with a sculpture of Yoda, plus a series of
little rooms providing various photo opportunities
and diversions such as a helter skelter. Make
sure you request that the staff prepare some
vodka shots for you to down on your way out
as, unless it's by previous arrangement, the
ice bar tends to be untended (understandably).
The drinks are reasonably priced, with gin
and tonic for NT$200, and good martinis for
NT$150. Bottled beers sell for NT$150. Bar
snacks such as nachos and fries and BBQ Squid
(NT$160) are available as well as meals such
as Baked Lemon Salmon (NT$180). A suitable
selection of flavored vodkas is also available
from the friendly bar staff. So, for a fun
evening with a twist, check out The Ice Bar.
Parties are catered upon request.
