Adjacent to the hustling and bustling Chungshan Bridge stands
a tranquil and aged mansion. Originally the social gathering
place for Taipei tea merchants, it is also once the Artists
Amity Center for cultural activities. Designated as a historical
building in 1998, restoration and renovation began and resulted
in the Yuanshan Villa today. The mansion is constructed in
English Tudor style, a distinctive semi woody structure; intersecting
deep brown panels decor with yellow mosaic tiles on exterior
and hedge walls, the Villa exudes a leisurely European country
style. Inside, on exhibit is the building¡¦s architectural
and historical information and files. Also, an area has been
set aside for social and leisure while sipping tea. The place
fully displays the historical significance of Taipei tea cultural
influence and lets one reminisce the past in the mist tea
fragrant. The restored Yuanshan Villa will certainly become
an important cultural landmark for the Taipei populace. ¡V
