       Winter is here, which makes a hot dip in the hot springs at San Xia on the outskirts of Taipei a comforting option. The natural springs at Da Ban Gen Vacation Village come from deep within the earth making the water pure and unpolluted, as well as colorless and odorless after passing through several layers of rock. After a soak, your skin will be whiter, your body and mind rejuvenated, and your nervous and digestive system restored - all this supports the phrase, "Beautiful Women's Spring". Other local attractions include northern Taiwan's only rain forest. It is so captivating that visitors refer to the region as a "treasured den of the tropics". You can also pay a visit to the Muller's Barbet bird nest site, and from March through November you can search for glowworms and other delicate creatures among the flatlands.
