Located in the alley behind the Sherwood Hotel, Delices De France is a French-style eatery full of elegance and freshness. A photo of Christophe Borniche, their exclusive chef, and a blue, red and white sign resembling France's flag can be seen just outside the place.
The cozy Delices doesn't make patrons feel like they are under-dressed in an expensive French restaurant like many places do. Instead, it is comfortable and laid-back--a nice place to enjoy French delicacies at affordable prices. After getting started with some of the restaurant's hearty European rolls, customers can move on to the set meals and entrees. The NT$380 lunch set meal was designed by Chris himself. The NT$680 set meal includes Cucumber Cold Soup with Clams, made with cucumbers, onions and clam juice.
A nice appetizer dish is the Sliced Tomato and Black Olive Oil with Celeriac Sorbet; this creative dish isn't available anywhere else. Or you can get started with the Aubergine Soup with Beetroot Juice. For a main course, try the Grilled Salmon with Sabayon Champagne Sauce--this dish's unique flavor comes from the sauce, which is made by pouring champagne into boiling egg yolks and stirring the mixture quickly. Another nice entree is the whole French Spring Chicken with Truffle Sauce. The dish takes a great deal of time to finish, as the chefs remove the breast bones before grilling, and chicken legs are cooked in a different style altogether. Its outstanding taste shows off Chris' culinary expertise. For dessert, their Chocolate Fondant with Vanilla Sauce is also quite satisfying, as is their handmade Ice Cream Tulip.
At Delices, whether you order the lunch or dinner set meal, they always reach the standard and quality of fine dining. No questions need to be asked about how devoted and passionate Chef Chris is with his cuisine; simply visit Delices De France, you will taste his expertise.
