Pen Chang Liu Noodles reopened on August 1 with an updated menu. Their Superb Sparerib Ramen (a la carte NT$90, set meal NT$180) comes highly recommended by the owner. To preserve its juiciness, the pork cutlet is not pounded down nor covered in flour. Another a great choice is the Miso Ramen (NT$150) created by their Japanese chef and using red miso. The Japanese Pork Cutlet (NT$220 per set with dessert and drink), marinated by rubbing in egg white and seasoning, will leave you wanting more. Not every dish is hot; try the Japanese Bonito Plum Cold Noodles (NT$75). The Chinese Cold Oolong Noodles (NT$120) is also delicious. For dessert, try the Sesame Pumpkin (NT$40), Almond Red Date Papaya Stew (NT$60), Red Bean Green Tea Ice Cream (NT$60), and Glutinous Rice Ball Ice Cream (NT$40).
