The country breads from Taiwan's Mr. Mark Bakery are made from recipes handed down by Mr. Mark from Germany. The basis of the bread begins with a special blend of grains and the addition of olive oil and maple syrup. Without eggs or butter, it is low in sugar and fat to meet the current health requirements and the natural flavors are completely sealed in. The breads have a great bite to them and leave an incredible wheat aroma in the mouth. There are over 40 varieties of breads and more than a dozen European cakes. Ten items are non-vegetarian, the remainder vegetarian. The recommended popular bread, Yogurt Cheese Red Bean Wheat And Assorted Grains Bread (NT$100), with whole red bean kernels, tastes good without being too sweet. Cheese Walnut Veggie Grains Bread (NT$90) has whole chunks of cheese with walnuts. --By Selena Huang
