Although the owner of Jen Hsiang Beef Noodles insists that
his small eatery is nothing special, must customers disagree.
Located near Taipei Medical College (TMC), Jen Hsiang serves
up extremely delicious beef noodles. The staff is often very
busy, so customers help out by taking their own noodles to
their seats and clearing tables. However, once one tastes
the noodles, the extra work becomes well worth it. One bowl
of beef noodles costs only NT$50 and comes with seven or eight
chunks of beef. The beef's texture is just right and goes
well with the rich broth. There is also a dry version of the
beef noodles (served without the broth). Other favorites include
beef with thin "glass" noodles (NT$50-NT$60). Side
dishes are available for NT$30 each. Most of the noodle dishes
sell out by 7 pm, so make sure you get here early to avoid
missing out on a great and inexpensive meal. -by Priscilla
