Among Taichung-ers, the Art Museum/Wuchuan Parkway is one of the
most popular locations for a leisurely stroll. To meet the demands
of all these walkers, coffee shops have opened one after another
on both sides of the parkway. However, poor business conditions
have led almost as many to close their doors. Fans of this area
are not sure what they might find around here, even after a brief
absence. However, the Pumpkin House is one of the few places that
has weathered the years. It is easy to see where the shop gets its
name from. Many items made from pumpkins are available, such as
pumpkin milk tea and pumpkin pie. This place is great for those
who like the unique taste as well as the health benefits of eating
pumpkin. If herbal tea is more your thing, you can give their peppermint
or sunflower teas a try. There are also a few beverages named after
movies, such as the "The Green Mile" and "The Witches
of Eastwick". The decor here is rustic in traditional European
and American styles. Wooden tables, red brick walls and a green
wine bottle wall lamp complement the interior--a simple design with
a great effect. The food here is also done to great effect, so give
it a try when you get the chance.
