'A Story of Scotland' in 2014
Words by Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau
Translated by Angela Cheng
Last year, Taichung City Government invited The Royal Burgh of Stirling Pipeband, Ballochleam Highland Dancers, and Aceltica to the city to give Taichung residents opportunities to enjoy direct contact with foreign cultures and a first-hand experience of expressive Scottish highland musical styles. This exchange wrote a splendid new page in the friendship between Taiwan and Scotland over five days with three parades and four spectacular performances.
This month, the original group of performers is once again coming to Taichung but staying even longer (10 days) to give more brilliant performances--six parades in shopping districts and four stage performances. All are welcome to come out and watch as Scottish bagpipe culture spreads to all corners of Taichung City, expressing once again Taichung's vision and reputation as an international arts city.
