Wow, Let Love Arrive Early "Stockings of Hope"
Translated by Ann Lee
In an effort to raise funds so needy children are able to buy breakfast, the annual Christmas Carnival on the Art Museum Parkway will once again be partially hosted by the Eden Social Welfare Foundation. The event, called "Wow, Let Love Arrive Early", will tentatively begin at 3 p.m. on December 20.
The events theme, "stockings of Hope", aims at literally and figuratively filling children's' stockings with donations and love. To create more of a stir, the event's organizers have put together a wonderful variety of activities and performances, and invited professionals from all fields and backgrounds. The organizers, with the help of Compass Magazine, would especially like to invite our foreign friends to this years' event.
Events will include a costume parade and hundreds of booths sponsored by local schools, kindergartens, churches and businesses. The booths will feature food, games and performances. The highlight of this year's carnival will probably be the sale of several baseballs autographed by Taiwan's own Yankee baseball players, Wang Chien-Ming and Luo Guo-hui. An 18-foot fir will stand as the city's tallest Christmas tree as well.
The Christmas Carnival is an activity that belongs to the whole of Taichung City. We hope that you can come and join in on the fun! No matter whether you decide to come alone or with a group of friends, don't forget to dress up in a special costume or register for charity events--you'll leave a lot of children very happy.
