Part of Taichung's new hotel boom,
Smartcue 52 Hotel is ideally located in a completely
renovated ZhongMing Road building, just meters
from TaiZhongGang (Taichung Harbor) Road. This
swanky-looking, well-equipped, 125-room business
hotel takes its name from its mother company,
a leading exporter of high-quality pool cues.
According to the management, the main idea is
to target the customers from the Taichung Science
Park and other mostly-business travelers with
high-quality rooms and facilities at less-than-top-end
prices. Smartcue 52 offers a variety of very attractive,
comfortable and fully-equipped rooms, based on
three main decor themes--wood, leather and modern
classical. There are currently 40-percent discounts
on all list prices, ranging from NT$4,000 (now
NT$2,400) to an NT$8,000 suite. The rooms have
big bathrooms, comfy beds and chairs, flat-screen
TVs, room safes and fridges and both wireless
Internet and ADSL access. Facilities include business/meeting
rooms for eight to 50 people, a fitness center,
a garden-style outdoor parking lot and--most unique--a
relaxing Meditation Room, where guests can relax,
read or work on computers in a zen-like atmosphere.
Complementary breakfasts are offered in a guest-only
first-floor dining area, next to the attractive
lounge-like lobby/check-in area, staffed by personnel
in fashionable turquoise uniforms.
