VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS
The National Museum of Natural Science (NMNS) is a world-class
science museum and a major Taichung tourist attraction. Although
most foreign visitors to the museum are impressed by the displays
of Chinese history and culture in the Chinese Science Hall.
However, because very little English information was available,
these exhibits have been hard to understand. In an effort
to make the museum more foreigner-friendly, five English-language
brochures have just been printed that describe in detail the
history and functions of the impressive clock tower located
at the entrance to the Chinese Science Hall, as well as four
of the hall's exhibit areas, including Chinese Science and
Technology, The Taiwanese Aborigines/The Austronesian People,
Chinese Medicine, and Chinese Spiritual Life. These brochures
were compiled by Cheryl Robbins, a former NMNS English-language
tour guide and former Compass Managing Editor, and are available
at the museum's information desks free of charge. --By Cheryl
