Crowning the new Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store, UCI--a Paramount/Universal company--is the first international movie theater complex to open in Taichung, with eight screens, seating for 2,700 and big, US-style lobby, ticketing counters and lay-out. Individual theaters feature stepped seating, so that everyone has a good view, and surround-sound speakers. The 13th and 14th-floor lobby areas also have American-style food and drink counters, selling popcorn, candy bars, sodas and different plate specials (including hot dogs, nachos, soda, etc.). Tickets are NT$270 for adults and NT$240 for students. There are also daily NT$210 matinee tickets for the first showing of the day.
