Xiao Liou Ma sells a good selection of stone pot dishes that are served in stone pots, of course, and range from NT$99 to NT$140. Lin Yu-zhen, the young owner, gets creative with some ingredients in the kitchen, but also holds onto stone pot mainstays like charcoal-grilled chicken drumsticks, pork, beef and seafood. He uses exotic spices and sauces to create dishes like Curry & Rice Pot, Barbecued Pork with Scallions, Healthy Chinese Medicinal Pot, and French-style Au Gratin Baked Rice Cakes. Here, you can also enjoy "bottomless" beverages and vegetarian cuisine. --By Niang Chen, translated by Ann Lee

A. The French-style Au Gratin Rice Cakes with Chicken (NT$130) is a tasty dish made with a good amount of cheese. It is sizzling hot when brought to the table and served with tangy Korean-style rice cakes.

B. Made with Taiwanese seasoning, the Braised Spicy Cabbage Rice Pot (NT$99) is spicy cabbage mixed with steaming hot rice. This charred dish is a great appetizer.
