For an
intimate dining experience, Villabella is a very good choice.
The recently-upgraded decor only adds to the fabulous food
that Chef Kelly creates and contributes to the charm of this
warmly-attractive restaurant. The nightly-changing set menu
costs NT$580, plus 10-percent service charge. The menu includes
an array of appetizers, a succulent pasta dish, a cheese plate,
a salad and dessert. My meal, which lasted for three hours,
began with sauteed peppers, asparagus wrapped in parma ham,
calamari, and a white bean and beef dish. Next, two pastas
were served--spaghetti with basil in a tomato cream sauce,
and penne and broccoli in cream sauce. In true European fashion,
the cheese and salad were served after the main course, and
I finished off my evening with black forest cake. I can't
remember when I had a meal so good for two reasons: the food
and the ambiance. Villabella has added to its wine selection,
with over 100 varieties. If you want to relax in a soothing
atmosphere, you can simply order wine and appetizers. This
is a place to go when you want to savor your food and experience
dining as it is meant to be--a slow, soulful process.
