Jiao An is best described as a teahouse for vegetarians.  It¡¦s a small, nondescript place that is easily missed.  This simplicity is carried over into the interior with wooden tables and chairs and cloth screens.  But, although the décor is simple, the food is absolutely great. The menu features ¡¥tea snacks¡¦, such as tea-flavored tofu, whole wheat cakes, vegetable pita pockets, baked tofu and tofu combo, all about NT$50 in price.  There are three main courses to choose from: vegetable soup, wheat germ noodles and mixed vegetables and bean noodles.  Each of the main courses comes with side dish, fruit, Chinese tea or plum juice, all for NT$180.  There are also special ¡¥tea meals¡¦ offered between 5pm and 7:30pm.  Reservations must be made in advance for groups of four or more, since these tea meals are prepared by just one person, the owner¡¦s wife.
