This is a warm and cozy place specializing in
French-style vegetarian cuisine. It opened about three years
ago when the chef moved here from Taipei after working in a vegetarian
restaurant there. The house specialty is veggie goose liver
pate (NT$150), made from a variety of spices and vegetables but
looks and tastes just like the real thing. Another dish to
try is the olive oil and vinegar mushrooms (NT$150). Various kinds
of noodle dishes (all about NT$180) are also available. The
noodles are all home-made. Except for the spicy tomato pasta, all
noodle dishes are topped with melted cheese. For example,
the chef¡¦s special pasta is rich in flavor due to the large amount
of white cheese in the recipe. This is a great restaurant to go
to if you like French food, or if you are a vegetarian looking for
something different than what is found in most vegetarian restaurants.
However, the chef/owner has recently been thinking about going abroad
to study. So, if you want to try some good French vegetarian
food, you had better hurry to Chez Lapins.
