With 21 years of history in Taichung, Las Vegas Teppanyaki has a strong hold on its claim to being the oldest teppanyaki in the city.  Although this upscale restaurant also claims to be the largest such eatery in the city--with 100 seats and a dozen cooking stations--it manages to maintain a quiet, classy ambiance which matches its fine menu selections.  These include a reasonable NT$450 set lunch with soup, salad, shrimp, fish, clams, steak or chicken, vegetables, fruit, coffee/tea and dessert.  Other all-inclusive meals include the NT$950 grilled chicken or pork chop, the NT$980 steak and seafood, a NT$750 mixed vegetable special, the NT$1,650 Kobe steak and the ultimate--a NT$6,300, 12-ounce Japanese prime Matsusaka steak.  After the main courses, guests take their dessert and coffee/tea in separate lounges, or in the downstairs Coffee Magazine cafe under the same management.
