Due to great demand and in an effort to attract boost patronage even further, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (Taiwan Branch) has relocated their Whisky Gallery to a new home that's bigger and can serve more guests. The new location is only a stone's throw from the old place. Not only does the move give SMWS members more chances to interact with each other, but they also serve a variety of red wines, cocktails, gourmet coffees and meals. Staff members in charge of making cocktails and coffees are quite the connoisseurs themselves, ensuring that Whisky Gallery will make your visit worthwhile, no matter what type of drink you're looking for. --By Josie Wu, translated by Ann Lee

A. Whisky Gallery has changed its previous practice of serving a single brand of whisky to only SMWS members. Now they also serve a range of whiskies from other local whisky distributors, making this the place for whisky lovers looking to find Taiwan's most comprehensive single malt whisky collection.

B. Whisky Gallery spent close to NT$800,000 creating its cigar/smoking room, which is one of only three indoor smoking lounges in Taipei City (the others being at the Sheraton and Westin hotels). In the gallery's other corner, you'll find a wine-tasting room seating 20-25 people, where seminars and wine-tasting events are often hosted. In the near future, space will also be provided for classes offered to those working toward their ISG (International Sommelier Guide) license.

C. Apart from liquor and cocktails, there are also a good variety of delectable dishes, like Grilled Lamb Chops (NT$520) or Seafood Pasta in Red Sauce.

Taiwan Fun reminds you to not to drink and drive.
