The extensive construction that has been going on at The Landis Hotel for the past several months has been cleared away to reveal a much-improved, expanded hotel. Most immediately visible is a redecorated, much larger lobby with walls seamlessly flowing into floors and glass walls that wrap around the hotel bakery. Upstairs is the new Barcode lounge bar (see Nov. "What's New" article). Downstairs banquet rooms have also been enlarged and improved to accomodate up to 580 people with attractive new ceilings and lighting and audio-visual equipment. Most significantly, though, are the hotel's 66 all-new guestrooms that showcase The Landis' new "city resort" concept. Each floor offers a number of wonderfully eclectic room styles that are all luxurious and spacious, with striking new architecture that utilizes natural light, large amounts of wood, extra-large bathrooms (some with great tubside window views) and other unique amenities. According to management, the variety of new rooms alone will help insure that guests enjoy a different experience each time they visit. Last but not least, the hotel is offering a new foot-massage spa in its adjacent Mandara Club.
