Huang Shing Business Hotel, previously known as King Star Hotel, has an entire new building, located on a quiet lane behind the original Taichung Kang hotel.  This attractive new facility has 40 well-appointed rooms that remain very reasonably-priced, from the NT$3,200 Standard Suite to the NT$5,800 VIP Deluxe Suite.  For the remainder of this year, however, there are 40 percent discounts on all prices, and 50 percent off for contract customers.  There are other useful facilities, like the 8th-floor conference room (free usage for room guests) and, downstairs, a coffee shop serving Chinese and Western breakfasts to room guests, as well as business lunches.  To get there, simply follow the painted yellow foot prints from the original building down Kuang Ming Road and behind to the new addition.  The hotel is conveniently located on Taichung Kang Road, between Honan Road and the freeway and within walking distance of Mitsukoshi Department Store.
