You could be forgiven for thinking that Feei Wen is a trendy new bar, a feeling that stays with you as you have your consultation while drinking a coffee and listening to muted jazz. It's sister salon has been up and running for 50 years, and this new incarnation hits the right note with friendly staff, free beverages, ultra-modern equipment and funky design. Downstairs you can have your hair cut or head massaged while gazing at a mural inspired by the 50's, and upstairs at the color bar you can relax, looking out over the Cultural Centre. If you want a less permanent new look, the make-up artists will magically transform your face for the evening. When all the pampering and smooth service wears you out, you can take a break on the balcony while sipping an ice-tea. Haircuts begin at NT$500, and student discounts are available.
