in one of downtown Kaohsiung's most popular shopping
areas, the new store F-1 occupies a corner of the YuanSu
Plaza, and exudes an inexhaustible energy and vigor
which catches everyone's attention. From pet IDs and
license plates to items with golfing themes, anything
that can be carved onto a metal plate of your choice
can be made here. Moreover, you can display a photo
of yourself on specially designed cell-phone accessories,
telephone dials, earrings, belts, or cigarette lighters.
Everything--carving, painting, burnishing and marketing--is
handled by the two young men who are in charge, Jordan
and Akila. They declare: "Nothing comes ahead of
design." Their insistence on quality has helped
them rise from being street vendors to workshop owners.
