Private art galleries are popular in north Taiwan, but less so in the south. Original Points Arts Center is, perhaps, the start of a trend to promote visual arts. Many efforts are being made at the government and private-sector levels to advance the recognition of fine arts. Original Points Arts Center is among the pioneer establishments to feature art for art's sake--no aggressive sales, no conversions for the art-minded or art-unacquainted. The purpose of Original Points Arts Center is to provide a place where people can physically see paintings. The display changes every couple of months. Each set is accompanied by a short description of the featured artist's previous shows. Though the exterior view may be intimidating for those wishing to enter, there is nothing that should keep one from seeing what's inside. All paintings are for sale.
