       "Nature Store" is written on the signboard, but the boutique's name is "Fragrant Cloud" referring to the patterned silks used to fashion clothing for ladies and gentlemen. The silk colors are lustrous browns and blacks, derived from plant and clay dyes in China. The fabric takes two months preparation, including a painstaking series of coldwater baths and sun drying. Various styles in six sizes are available off the rack. For custom tailoring, add 10 percent to the ticket price and two weeks for completion. Hakka peasant ware in cotton is also available. Garments range from NT$1,000 to NT$5,000; 50 percent discount on seasonal items.
