       There may not be a shortage of jet skis or 7-11's in the resort area of Nan Wan Bay and nearby Kenting, but good dive shops are few and far between. "Fu Dog" offers anything you could want when it comes to action on or below the waves including minor repairs on equipment. Sammy 'Bone' Hawkins, owner of the recently renovated "Fu Dog" and certified instructor, has been taking adventure seekers, scuba divers and surfers out
for the past five years. He's added brand name apparel(Quicksilver, Victory, Billy Boong, Lost, Roxy, and Surf Ware) to shop services, which also includes multi-lingual instruction and discovery dives for folks wanting to explore the waters off southern Taiwan. A novice discovery dive is NT2,500; NT$1,500 for a licensed diver. It's a 2hour adventure with 30-40minutes of under water time. As for the "Fu Dog" himself - "I'm just tryin' to share that tropical island feeling", he explains in a confident Texan drawl. By Marcus Peterson
