       Looking for a different way to spend a weekend afternoon? Inspired by the Formula 1 races you can see on cable TV, and itching for high speeds and tight turns? Get some racing action at PRK (Power Racing Kart) near ChengChing Lake in Kaohsiung County's NiaoSong. There is a comfortable lounge area from where you can watch the action on the huge track and enjoy a cool drink. But the real fun starts when you get into the little go-kart and the flag drops. From there it is all out adrenalin, fun and the competitive desire to be the first across the finish line. Races are priced at NT$300 for 15 minutes. If you buy ten tickets, it works out at NT$250 per ticket. Do not expect bilingual staff, but with patience you'll get by. The track is open every day of the year. --By Pieter Vorster
