       Unique Bookcenter has just opened its third branch in a convenient location near Central Park. The new store is already drawing in a steady flow of people, attracted by both curiosity and appealing discounts of 10 to 21 percent on a good part of their merchandise. The store stocks books and magazines on a spectrum of subjects, from serious texts, to cooking guides, language study guides, children's books, plus translations of Western novels. A second floor is expected to open sometime in June. Books in this new branch are almost exclusively in Chinese, though Unique's main branch on MingZhe Road has some foreign-language items. --By Angelica Montgomery
