VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS
A sprawling
playground for rollerbladers and skateboarders doing their best
to get airborne, this new park was opened by the city government
this February, and attracts around 200 visitors every weekend. You'll
see young guys in baggy pants dive down concave ramps and hit the
ascending ramp with a speed that throws them into the air, while
groups of men and women sporting sunglasses and rollerblades sit
casually on the edge of a six-foot half-pipe, taking turns rolling
down the giant curves. The park itself has a massive maze of half-pipes,
spines, rails, mini-ramps, and quarter-pipes, all designed for catching
speed, sliding, rotating, and catching air. Admission to the park
and use of the ramps is free, though visitors are required to wear
helmets. --By Angelica Montgomery
