If you've been in Kaohsiung for a while, you'll recognize the name "Kiss Banana". This 14-year staple of the Kaohsiung pub scene has undergone some changes that Michael, the owner operator and DJ of the renamed "Beer Planet", hopes you'll come to and enjoy. Michael used to run Kiss Pub as a "talking bar". Now, he wants to attract a new, more modern, relaxed crowd and he's especially interested in making the place comfortable for women to enjoy. Amongst other specials, every Friday night is Ladies Night at Beer Planet, and all women can drink champagne free all night. Beer is fairly priced at NT$100 a bottle, and the food is Taiwanese-style, and done well.
