Ask the owner of recently opened Bed
Lounge where to go and he'll tell you with a comic grin:
"Go to bed, the Bed Lounge". You won't be
disappointed if you're looking for something new and
funky. This spot, located almost directly across the
street from the Catholic Church on WuFu 3rd Road, is
Kaohsiung's newest and possibly next big nightspot.
The menu is filled with numerous cocktails,
first class wines and whiskies and even Cuban cigars.
It may read like a book, but the menu features some
of the finest things in life. Consumption connoisseurs
will appreciate the length of detail in cocktails like
'Somewhere in Time', 'Room number' or the classic 'Sex
on the Beach'. However, at NT$200 to NT$250 each (two
for the price of one for foreigners on Friday nights)
the prices are hardly a stretch on your wallet. And,
what better way to enjoy a delicious cocktail than to
stretch your legs out on one of five elaborately decorated
beds. Don't forget to slip off your shoes and slip into
a pair of lounge slippers on these very comfortable
and stylish units with you and a few of your closest
friends.
There is food on the menu as well. Simple and appetizing
options like fried squid, squid rings, a cheese plate
(with seven assorted cheeses), chicken wings and even
fish and chips. All priced the same at NT$250 per plate.
With bright stars illuminating the ceiling inside, this
place has a unique laidback feel of its own. Look out
for specials every Friday night and a bartender who
can juggle more than a few drinks while mixing cocktails.
The owner Brian, will be more than happy to play your
own CD's, as long as it reflects the atmosphere.
