Managed by Canadians, Mike and Darron,
and the popular local Taiwanese barman, Jimmy, The Beaver
Dam Bar is located just 100meters down the road from
the PingTung train station (turn right when exiting
and look for the big beaver). This long-awaited addition
to PingTung's nightlife is friendly, easy on the wallet
and an all round great place to have fun from Wednesday
to Sunday.
The Bar offers satellite T.V. shown
on its two flat screens, finally giving the PingTung
folks a chance to watch popular sports, while enjoying
a frosty pint. The bar also has a pool table, foosball
table and dartboards to keep you entertained. The music
rolling through all night covers most genres, and with
an extensive catalogue, is always open to requests.
The bar has vaulted ceilings, giving it a spacious feeling
and great air quality. It also has a dance floor and
small stage that will soon feature live performances.
The drinks are priced to make a good night a cheap one
as well. A pint of Stella Artois is only NT$130, Corona
and Heineken are offered for NT$110 and San Miguel costs
NT$100. Shots are only NT$120, fruit cocktails are NT$180,
and Bloody Mary's and Paralyzers are only NT$170.
The kitchen features a menu full of
quality bar food, including mozzarella sticks, lemon
chicken fingers, buffalo chicken wings, jalapeno poppers,
fries with gravy, nachos with salsa and veggies and
dip. Each food item is only NT$100. The bar offers a
dinner special on Saturday and Sunday, with a variety
of popular dishes changing each week.
Special One Time Offer: If you're coming from out of
town (40km radius), the owners want to make it worth
your while. If your group (up to 4) spend at least NT$2500,
the bar will cover half your cab fare home.
