On the corner of DaBei Road, directly
across from Cheng Ching Lake and the baseball stadium,
stands Lakeside Bar and Grill. This unique club provides
some of the best and simplest things in life to the
growing expat community and their friends. From food
and drinks to hosting meetings for its sponsored clubs
and parties, Lakeside has already proven its mandate
to be, "A home away from home, where you are welcomed
by name, every need is anticipated and every expectation
is exceeded."
Lakeside is a private club. Their door
policy (see it at http://www.chengchinglake.com) clearly
states that any expat or member of Lakeside's sponsored
clubs, and their guests, are welcome. Non-English speakers
should be accompanied by an English speaking resident,
and Lakeside reserves the right to refuse admission.
Lakeside offers an assortment of burgers,
pizzas and sandwiches - all priced between NT$85 - NT$280.
Try the new Mexican pizza (NT$250). Beers start from
NT$100, mixed drinks are NT$130 and cocktails start
from NT$180. Watch for Ladies night every Friday and
Happy Hours are from Tuesday to Friday, 9 p.m. - 11
p.m., where you'll pay NT$65 for a draft beer.
Sporting fans will appreciate that
Lakeside provides live satellite feeds of games from
worldwide venues. Members from all over regularly come
to watch anything from football to rugby and hockey
at Lakeside's 24-hour sports broadcasting service. This
unique service even lets you watch your favorite game
after-hours from a television permanently situated outside
on the patio. Or, try cooling off at one of Lakesides
hot late-night parties by standing next to an eight-ton
block of ice! Sleep in and enjoy a NT$100 breakfast
served from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. on weekends. And soon, Lakeside's
outdoor patio will be decorated in a style made famous
by the islands of the South Pacific.
