Places come and places go, subject to the trends of the day. However, Kaohsiung's newest, hottest club seems set for a long and popular run. Dreams Club is located directly behind SOGO Department Store. With a capacity for a thousand people, it boasts a large dance floor, served by an impressively stocked bar, surrounded by comfortable seating and overlooked by a second floor lounge area. The second floor also has a VIP Lounge and a balcony, plus a suspended DJ booth. The staff is friendly and can efficiently cater to the large crowds.

From the bar you can find most drinks, all competitively priced. Beers sell for NT$150, mixed drinks for NT$200 and juices go for NT$180. Food ranges between NT$120 (french fries) and NT$280 (mixed sausage platter). Favourites include a range of spaghettis (NT$250), beef dishes (NT$250) and vegetable dishes (NT$180). The basic cover charge is NT$300, which includes two free drinks, but this is raised to NT$500 for events, which happen regularly. Tuesdays are Free Entry Night, Wednesdays are Ladies Night (men pay NT$500 with two free drinks, ladies pay NT$300 with two free drinks) and Thursdays are Shots Night (NT$500 with two free Tequilas). Most weekends Dreams Club becomes the obvious choice for many, featuring theme parties and hosting visiting DJs. Check their website for upcoming events.
