The friendly folks at Black Dog Pub
have created a great place to enjoy good music and a
comfortable environment. "Conveniently located
close to Hanshin Department Store, Black Dog may be
your downtown choice; "a home away from home,"
says Manager Darren. Black Dog boasts a huge music collection,
featuring over 50,000 songs. They encourage customers
to make requests. Listening to your favourite songs
while relaxing in a comfy pub is a great way to unwind
at the end of a long day. The main reason to go to the
Black Dog, however, is the food and drinks. They specialize
in premium beers.
Black Dog features more than 30 types,
including Belgian fruit beers, Red Seal, Boddingtons,
Scottish Ale, Censored, Satan and various other 'micro-brews'
premium beers. On Mondays, all vodka and gin mixed drinks
are NT$100. Tuesdays are 'student nights', when it doesn't
cost you a bundle to enjoy pub life. Small draught beers
are only NT$25! Sample the unique Belgian beers on Wednesdays
for only NT$100.
On Thursdays, big Asahi and Taiwan
beers are only NT$100 and Fridays feature a special
deal on Heineken. Things get a little wild on Saturdays,
when Tequila goes for NT$50 a shot. The buzz about Black
Dog's food is growing. Recently a customer was overheard
saying Black Dog has 'the best pizza in town.' Apart
from pizza, Black Dog serves all your Tex-Mex favourites,
including hearty chili, sizzling burgers, spicy burritos,
quesadillas and pub favourites like nachos and wings.
The menu is growing and Black Dog is anxious to become
a dinner destination, at which time they will open earlier
to accommodate an early dinner crowd. If you are looking
for a place in the downtown area to unwind or get the
party started, Black Dog should be high on your list.
