Magazine contributors who, for the benefit of their readers, visit all types of establishments-places which run the gamut of personal appeal for the writer-are every so often blessed to discover and review a place that they truly take pleasure in. Whether it be for its simple-yet-tasteful interior design, its mix of the modern and artistic, yet unpretentious, comfort, or its all-things-connected-to-photography focus, Camera Coffee is just such a place. To increase its allure, the amiable owner of this cozy cafe, a professional commercial photographer who goes simply by David, plays great jazz music and offers an astoundingly delectable dessert selection, such as an otherworldly French Vanilla Pudding (NT$60), of which only 10 servings are made daily. And, of course, as it is a cafe there are a number of hot and cold coffee drinks on offer, for which you receive a 10 percent discount if you bring your own camera. While visiting, you may further feel you are among friends, as David knows 80 to 90 percent of his customers by their first names, something that certainly adds to Camera Coffee's overall appeal. --By Michael Brown and Pei Ling Wu, translated by Ann Lee, photos by Michael Brown
