As the latest, greatest sandwich spot in
town, Goya doesn't disappoint. From MinZu Road, navigate your
way down JianGuo Road and look for the big yellow 3C. Goya
is kind of hidden across the street. This small cafe has a
stylish, relaxed atmosphere which is welcoming after the hustle
and bustle of Kaohsiung streets. Their tasty sandwiches (NT$100-NT$125)
have nifty names like 'The Godfather' (which comes with Genoa
salami and Gruyere cheese), 'The Oink, Oink' (a ham and cheese
sandwich with a twist) and 'The Cha Cha Cha' (a chicken salad
sandwich). You can order soup and salad separately (NT$60)
or get a set meal (NT$80 - NT$125). They serve a variety of
coffees, juices, Corona and for those lavish lunches-Chardonnay
(NT$120). Watch out for their delectable specials-when we
went they had a refreshing Greek Salad with feta cheese and
three different kinds of olives and chicken chili with mango
salsa!
