If you feel like a spot of sightseeing while
enjoying a meal, head for Dear Moon on the edge of ChengCing
Lake. Established in 2002, it is centered around a traditional-style
pagoda housing contemporary art displays. Outside there is
a glassed-in eating area and covered bamboo seats and tables,
as well as an expansive deck stretching over the lake. From
here great views and cool breezes surround you. The deck is
partly shaded by contorted old trees and makes for a pleasant
place to while away an afternoon. And this is to say nothing
of the tasty individual hotpot meals; beef, pork, mutton or
mushroom accompanied by a drink and dessert. If you just fancy
a snack or a drink there are sandwiches and a range of coffees,
teas and (pricey, but substantial) juices. There is an English
menu and the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive without
being overbearing.
