VISITOR RATINGS & REVIEWS "Thai
Restaurant," the city's unsung hero among Southeast Asian eateries,
is situated on an obscure alleyway. It almost appears as if someone
cleared their house to make way for customers. Devoid of decor,
except for portraits of Thailand's King and Queen and two refrigerators,
the place holds ten small tables and a cache of red plastic stools.
The proprietor blushes when asked for an interview: "Who would
want to know about my place?" Why, anyone wanting good Thai
food! The menu simply lists "Stir Fry," "Deep Fry,"
fish, soup and salad dishes (NT$70 to NT$250), yet all the favorites
are included. Stools are kicked to the side and tables are cleared
with a clatter as satisfied diners leave, and the next round of
customers arrive. -- By Karen Schmitt
