This
friendly store, located on the main road from downtown
Tainan to Anping, has a good balance of mass-produced
items and local hand-crafted works. There are hand
puppets, statuettes and figurines (of buddhas,
sages, fighting monks and other classical characters),
paintings and drawings, a broad selection of Chinese-language
books (including a number of guides to the relics
of Anping and Tainan), and--perhaps most interesting
of all--a large choice of postcards. If you've
toured the backstreets of Anping and taken a fancy
to the famous sword-lion emblems, you can find
inexpensive miniature examples here to adorn your
front door.
