Run by Kent, an American, and Dennis,
a Taiwanese, the Office is a new bar located just down
the road from long-established Austrian/ German restaurant
Andi's Party Corner, and near the Evergreen Plaza Hotel
(Tainan) and Tainan Municipal Cultural Center. The Office
hopes to attract "people who like to have fun,
people who appreciate good music," says Kent, who
worked in marketing for many years. Dennis--Kent's brother-in-law--studied
restaurant management in the US, and has run restaurants
there and in Taiwan. Much of the music played here reflects
Kent's passion for the blues, but he's open to suggestions.
"The music depends on the crowd. We have dance,
techno--everything!" Prices are competitive: Bottled
beers are NT$70 during happy hours, and NT$100 at other
times. San Miguel draft beer goes for NT$100 per mug
or NT$350 per pitcher. Kent is working on some unique
cocktails, and aims at a later date to provide Western
food. Also, he expects to put a pool table and a dartboard
upstairs with the foosball table. |
